In 2026, the Indian automotive upcoming cars

The Return of the Legend: Renault Duster (New-Gen)

One of the most anticipated launches of 2026 is the all-new Renault Duster, expected to hit showrooms in January 2026. After a long hiatus, this iconic SUV returns with a rugged, futuristic design and a more premium cabin featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Level 2 ADAS. It is likely to be powered by a 1.3L turbo-petrol engine producing around 154 bhp, with rumors of a strong-hybrid variant for high fuel efficiency. The expected price range is ₹10.00 – ₹16.00 Lakh, making it a direct threat to the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara.

Maruti’s Electric Debut: e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki is set to enter the electric segment in January 2026 with the e Vitara (internally known as the YY8). This is a “global” EV developed alongside Toyota, featuring a 49–61 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of over 500 km on a single charge. Unlike Maruti’s previous budget-focused cars, the e Vitara will be a premium offering with a focus on safety and a new dedicated EV platform. It is expected to be priced between ₹17.00 – ₹22.50 Lakh, positioning it as a flagship for the brand.

Nostalgia Meets Future: Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors is bringing back the beloved “Sierra” nameplate as a dedicated electric SUV, with an expected launch on January 26, 2026. The Sierra EV will retain the signature curved rear glass area of the original model but will be packed with modern luxuries like a panoramic glass roof, a four-spoke steering wheel, and a lounge-like interior. It is expected to share its powertrain with the Harrier EV, offering AWD (All-Wheel Drive) capabilities and a price tag of ₹20.00 – ₹25.00 Lakh.

The Affordable 7-Seater: Nissan Gravite

For large families on a budget, Nissan is preparing to launch the Gravite in early 2026. This MUV is built on the same platform as the Renault Triber but will feature Nissan’s distinct “V-Motion” design language and a more tech-heavy interior. It aims to be one of the most affordable 7-seaters in India, with an expected price of ₹6.00 – ₹9.50 Lakh. Its compact size makes it perfect for urban families who need extra seating without the bulk of a full-sized SUV.

Mahindra’s Born Electric Era: BE 07

Mahindra is doubling down on its “Born Electric” strategy with the launch of the BE 07 in February 2026. This SUV is designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, featuring a radical “edge” design and a triple-screen dashboard that spans the entire width of the cabin. Built on the INGLO platform, it will offer high-performance battery options and rapid charging capabilities. With an expected price of ₹28.00 – ₹32.00 Lakh, it will target tech-savvy buyers looking for a luxury EV experience.

Segment-Leading Refreshes: Skoda Kushaq & Hyundai Verna

Several fan-favorites are also receiving major updates in 2026. The Skoda Kushaq Facelift is expected in January 2026 with a price of ₹11.00 – ₹19.50 Lakh, bringing a sharper look and much-needed features like a 360-degree camera. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Verna Facelift is slated for March 2026 with an estimated price of ₹11.00 – ₹18.00 Lakh, focusing on interior refinements and advanced safety tech to maintain its lead in the executive sedan segment.
